This video caught my eye. Stolen from the awesome ladies at Feministing.
Though I do feel there's a great sense of irony around a beauty product company that is running a market campaign on "real beauty", they've been bringing up some interesting things.
Thoughts?

I think the Dove people are very savvy. Exposing the illusion behind the images we are exposed to everyday is important, and I think they're doing a lot to change perceptions of the norm. It is a bit creepy that the only way to generate positive messages is partially through the marketing of a product, but at least it's a start. Since they are supporting the ads with active campaigns targeted at addressing the issue at a more interpersonal level, I feel pretty good about the Dove folks. Besides, my husband likes their soap.
You should see what I really look like. Yikes.
Kidding - I am so glad for a company like Dove.
