All the way from Charleston!

It is a good thing that the MONTANA newspapers care so much about MONTANANS! I actually heard this on NPR yesterday and wanted to post it from a local paper, but shockingly enough, it didn't run in any of the Montana papers as far as I could find it. Anyway, it is some pretty tough news for us cowgirls.

When broken down by gender, women in West Virginia are the worst paid in the country, ranking behind Arkansas, Montana and Mississippi. In 2006, the median earnings for women working full-time, year-round jobs was $25,758, in inflation-adjusted dollars. It's an improvement over 2005, when they made $24,956, but not enough of an improvement to raise the state's rank.

Wee. West Virginia, Arkansas, Mississippi and Yay, Montucky.
