Love is flipping your husband's boat and he spends the rest of the weekend telling you what a great job you did rowing.

common sense dictates that it is indeed true that one will catch more flies with honey as opposed to vinegar. i can see why he would continue the great praise of your work even past your mistake, or whatever caused the capsizing. taking love out of the equation all together, it is a sound philosophy. to brow beat and reverbirate the incident to you would have done nothing more than put a sour taste in your metaphorical mouth for rowing with him or even his boat. he probably loves to take you boating with him more than any other companion, obviously, and would never want you to second guess that. plus, i am sure you did a great job all down the river, or whatever. More than likely it was not your fault at all.
