Unlike our own President, whose labor department has stopped tracking the statistics that prove there is a gender pay gap in the US, Tony Blair said he fully supports equal pay for women in Britain and for Wimbledon, one of the two grand slam tournaments that does not pay its winners equally.
Stated Venus Williams about the push for equal pay:
I would say my defense, and the rest of the women on the tour also, is that we aren't involved in arguing the points of time spent on court, sets played-that's a moot topic. What it's really about is being treated equal as a human being. That's really our platform, and it's the truth."Damn straight. And did you know that Montana has one of the largest pay gaps in the nation, ranking 36th in the nation? MT women earn 73 cents/dollar, compared to 76/dollar nationally. And women in Montana rank 50th (yep, last, tied with S. Dakota) in median annual earnings.
Ain't that some shit?
