On another Max related note, he is carrying a bill through congress that would compensate Libby asbestos victims to the tune of $1 Million each. If you don't know, there was a vermiculite mine in the Libby area where many local residents were employed. The mine was "chucky jam full" of asbestos and is slowly killing the mine workers and their families. This compensation is lumped in with other asbestos related regulations. According to NPR, that other dude that represents Montana in congress won't support this bill. He is the same dude that is all tied up with the Abramoff investigation. Oh and campaigningaiging to keep his seat in Congress. Is this guy TRYING to loose? Seriously. Heck, while you are feeling all politically active, go ahead and email Burns and tell him to throw in the towel. This guy has got to go.

waaaaay to go max!!! I am mighty proud of him for sticking his neck out. And as I spent a good 6 years getting my psych degree, I DID learn that positive reinforcement is GOOD. So please envelope the man with lots of thanks. He needs to know that we appreciate his actions when he stands up for women's rights.
and WTF Burns, not supporting Libby? Kind of like Racicot, it's his hometown and he did squat for those people while he was guvinator. Have Republicans no shame?

Oh God, I cannot believe I am going to do this, but I am going to have to stick up for, gulp, Burns on this one. At a million each, the bill will NEVER pass. It is just for show. In reality, the bill that is likely to be looked at seriously is one which will give claimants around $450,000 each with a couple hundered thousand more for people with mesothelioma and not just asbestosis. Even this has been difficult and has sat in congress for over a year. So while it looks good to ask for a mil, it would be better time spent on getting something realistic passed.
I have to go take a shower now.

Will that stop you from e-mailing him and telling him to drop out of the 2006 race?
Generally my stance with him has been that I don't vote for him but I also don't vote for canidates that run against him. He has too much power for a state that has no voice, generally. However, this year, it will make you happy that I have been in the process of contacting Tester's campaign to volunteer. Does that make it better?
Also, again, damnit, I have to back Burns again for his stance that if people want the money, they have to ligitimately prove they have an asbestos related disease. That is not part of Maxie's plan. You know how I feel about some of these carpetbaggers in Libby...

It WAS part of Max's plan, but it was taken out in committee and Max is putting it back in before it hits the floor. I think the point here is that during his campaign for re-election he announces that he is not supporting a bill to help out the Libbians and wasn't clear on why. Bad move dude.
Yeah, I thought that about Denny once. There is only one thing I regret more and that was dating a white dude with dred locks.
I am glad to see that you are coming around.
Tester is one hell of a guy, and it took me a while to realize that one. He really won me over when he asked the AG for an opinion on contraceptive coverage.
