Love Letter

Dear Jake:

I just want to start this letter by saying, I still love you. I have always and will continue to love you. I also still believe in you, I believe with my heart of hearts that you are a fantastic quarterback. I have never played quarterback, but I studied the GREAT John Elway for many years and I think that I have a minor understanding of what makes a great quarterback. I believe that 75% of greatness is skill, athleticism, intelligence, and vision. The last 25% is believing in yourself enough to get your team to believe in you, or “leadership.” I believe in you and I hope that you can believe in yourself. You have the skill and you are a superb athlete, you will not be a Marino, you will, one day, wear a super bowl ring.

I watched you at ASU, you were a leader. I watched you play for the Cardinals, you were a leader even amongst that rag tag bunch. I watched you in Denver and you seem quiet, withdrawn, unsure of yourself. The Denver Broncos are a powerhouse and they can be intimidating. They are an awesome running team, they are beautiful receivers, they are a killer offensive line (that even Peyton is jealous of) and one of the AFC’s best defenses. Stop doubting yourself and become their leader! So what if the Steelers beat you, Seattle is going to hand them their ass. Keep your eye on the prize, Jake. So what if the critics spent all year talking about how you were destined to crumble, they may have been right, but most of the time they are wrong, prove them wrong. You were amazing this year, you deserved the AFC Championship trophy, but it didn’t happen. Life is not over, it has just begun. Focus on what you do great and make it better. Be as good as Elway, be even better. You are young, you are strong and to me, you are perfect.

You are Jake the Snake and Mike Shanahan and the rest of Broncos are lucky to have you.

All of my love,
Auto

P.S. F- the fashion critics. I LOVE the beard. I even loved the porn star moustache.

Saturday was just a really bad day to be named "Jake".

Be careful about rooting so solidly for the Hawks though. Counting on the Seahawks to win when they should is like marrying your abusive boyfriend/girlfriend because you figure he/she is due for a change. Trust me, i still have a restraining order against them for the collapse in '99.

Much Love,

a sympathetic Packer fan

Yesterday was one of the best afternoons of my life. I always love when my 2nd favorite NFL team (my 2nd fave is always whatever team is playing the Broncos) shoves the Broncos around the field like the little girls they are. Glorious!

It was a valiant effort, but alas, the Steelers had the Bronco's number. Better luck next season.

This season wasn't a total loss, however. At least Invesco got some use in the play-offs, and Shanahan finally won a post-season game w/o Elway. Jake will live to fight another day!!!

Hey! Didn't any of you loohoosers see the 'I'm no Marino' line? Classic stuff there. Dan is going to be hunting you down for that. Remember the psycho place kicker/bitch cop from Pet Detective? Aren't you worried? Oh well, it was fun to watch, the Broncos didn't get homered too bad by the refs, Madden wasn't canning Favre all day and the loss came from untimely turnovers, like most of the playoffs this year. Does the Snake have a restraining order out due to all this love?

I myself am hopelessly in love with Shawn Alexander from the Seahawks. He may have the most beautiful smile I have ever seen in my life. and it's a rumor I've heard that he writes children's books. if true - BACK OFF LADIES......he's mine......
