I just spent this past weekend in my college town with friends and my brother. We may be a little older, with different hairdos and relationship status and jobs, but really, not much has changed. They're the same girls they were when we met freshman year, a little older and wiser, but just as much fun as ever. I love that we can not see each other for months, but just fall back into the swing of things whenever we get together.
After a few too many drinks, we ended up shaking our asses at Feruqui's, a bar I have rarely set foot in, with a seedy reputation. We took over the dance floor and had a blast dancing to some of the most horrible music ever written.
It's alway good to let your inner hip hop princess out once in a while. Especially when I've been thinking only about the impending doom of the Supreme Court and other political issues. Which is not to say I didn't give them all my sales pitch about John Roberts and many other political issues of the day. You know I can't stop myself.
But at the same time, it's nice to take the time to enjoy things that really are the most important--friends and family.
Must get back to my political activism. Thanks to my zoo-town friends for a much-needed break from the insanity that is politics.

I'm so happy to hear that you shook your hiney and presented zoo-town with the hip hop princess that I know you can be. A-town was out, I have no doubt. But B-town missed you tremendously on Sat. - now the cat's out of the bag why I was ill yesterday ...
My inner flasher was hanging out in W. Yellowstone yelling about republicans and wearing other people's glasses - - oh and cowboy boots and a skirt. How about a YOU GO GIRL for party girls?
