Elections Matter?....You Bet Your Ass

So, wanted to draw your attention to this blog post. A couple days late, but I'm busy--what do you expect?

This post means two things to me:
1. elections matter
2. electing pro-choice candidates matters.

I keep running across people who say crap like "we just need Dems in there, then everything will get better." Or, "Groups like NARAL don't get it. They can't endorse pro-choice R's over an anti-choice Dem. They're just screwing themselves." Well, my friend, when it comes down to votes on choice....it DOES matter. It matters a lot, because guess what, anti-choice Dems vote for anti-choice policies. I know it doesn't seem like rocket science, but getting people to understand the magnitude of this point is actually difficult.

Going to see Edwards reminded me of this even more. Even though we've got D majorities in Congress, do we have D's that want the kind of change Edwards is talking about? Not likely.
