Connie: "he he, sucks to live in DC."
Jim Inskeep: "That is the state of Montana. . ."
Connie: "Oh duh, the Montana Meth Project."
Airing on HBO2 this Sunday, a documentary on the worst drug on the planet and how it ruins the lives on Montanans.
I am thrilled about every aspect of the Montana Meth Project for a number of reasons.
1. It is a prevention program, actually it is the only prevention program that we have for Meth. We spend TO MUCH $$ on treatment and incarceration of meth ($69 MILLION/YEAR). This program is working to keep kids off meth and that is good.
2. It is working.
3. I have seen a lot of photos of meth labs and almost EVERY time they bust a meth lab in a house, there are kids toys everywhere. These people are playing a very dangerous version of Mr. Wizard with horribly dangerous chemicals around babies while they are HIGH. Hopefully, the Montana Meth Project can stop that cycle. That is the most dangerous part of this drug, you don't need to import it from other countries or states, it is made from chemicals you can get at grocery stores and ag supply stores. It is a drug made from ammonia, ephedrine, sulfur, propane. . . That is why I think it is so prevalent in Montana. Who would bother bringing crack here? Heroine? Cocaine? PCP? That is why meth, in my opinion, is holding Montana by its balls.
I am not ashamed that my state is the subject of this documentary. I thank Mr. Siebel. A model Montana citizen.
P.S. Check out NPR online to listen to the story, Rep. Theresa Henry gives a GREAT interview.
