Nerdville U.S.A.

Hand me my scientific calculator and call me NERD!

The high point of my day yesterday was an email discussion with Sid's Great Oppressor and Dr. Pennypacker about the up and coming remake of Goonies, Goonies 2. Dr. Pennypacker was so moved by the news, he called me mid-afternoon to quote Goonie lines to me. "You no laugh when Data fall down!"

I Love The Goonies!

What is not to love? A collection of not so pretty teenagers looking for a pirate treasure to save their houses from developers. Heck, they even threw in the token Asian for Engrish related comedy. Chunk, ahhh, Chunk, the fat kid who gets them into trouble eventually saves the day. . . Plus it gave all of us Martha Pimpleton look-a-likes hope that maybe, someday, if we take off our glasses, we too could kiss Corey Feldman (remember when he was hot, not now, good lordy). One Eyed Willy. . .he he he.

Remember how scary that movie was when you first saw it? I was 9 years old and evil Italian families and pirate ships were scary. Very Scary! All I ask, Mr. Donner, is that you bring back the Truffle Shuffle!

"This is our time!"

Down here this is our time, but up there...that is THEIR time. (wheeze)

plus mocking child obiesity, the truffle shuffle ... really?
...AWESOME! He was fat and they exploited him for it! Plus have you seen Joel Cohen lately? With the exception of Key Huey Kwan (who simply does NOT age at all) he is the only one that doesn't depress the shit out of me to look at. I also love The Goonies. Pure. Adolescent. Art. Stephen Speilberg at his BEST (save Indiana Jones).

one last thought here, and this goes for all of us, You really should no laugh when Data fall down. SLICK SHOES!

Shawn Austin's second best performance was in the Goonies. His finest performance was as Drew Barrymore's roided out brother in 50 First Dates. The lisp.

Come on! Slip her the tongue!

You didn't like Sean as Sam in LOTR? Or as Rudy? No, you're probably right. 50 First Dates was his best role.

That would be cool if they make a sequel. I love the Goonies too. Everybody loves Goonies.

I feel a sudden need - and I mean NEED - to OWN this movie. Must. Go. To. Target. Now.

My sister, Jdoc, once dumped a boy for not having seen Goonies. Or maybe I just told her to dump that boy... whichever one. GOONIES ROCKS!

Jdoc is smart. VERY SMART. What kind of future would they have had?
