The resolution asks for "a rapid and orderly withdrawal of military personnel from Iraq.” It also assails the cost of the war and “untruths” told to justify the war. Iraq was not a threat, had no weapons of mass destruction and had no role in the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the resolution reads.
Stay tuned for the vote next week. I am pretty sure it is going to change the US Foreign Policy regarding Iraq.
Okay, I am a cynic, I think it is a good gesture and I think it sends a good message, but is it going to be heard? No. Will it change the course of the war? No.
What is the cliché about good intentions? I forget.
