Saddest Place on Earth

The Humane Society.

I can't even bring myself to look at the Montana Pets without getting a huge lump in the back of my throat. I just look at all of those sweet dogs and cats and can't believe that people would give them up or just let them run away. I think about how confused an hurt they must be - gulp. I would love to volunteer for the Humane Society, but I just can't bring myself to do it. I can't know how many beautiful animals are abandoned every day, I already have troubles with humanity. I really don't understand how people can justify paying $1,000 for dogs like this knowing that there are thousands of dogs out there desperate for homes. Think about how much dog food you could buy with $1,000 if your dog was free?

There is always some good news though, dogs and cats get adopted into loving families every day, such is the case with Sandy. Sandy starred in the local play "Annie" and then was the star in an adoption "sweepstakes." I wish that every pound puppy and kitty could star in a play so each one of them would be adopted. Selma is my pound puppy, and even though she is frequently naughty, very naughty, I am grateful for every day she is in my life.

Who was it that once said, "The more people I meet, the more I like my dog?"

I am telling you. If it wasn't for picking up dog poop - I swear I would have many pound puppies.

I would just like to thank Ozzie's future parents, Sake's mom, Harley's parents, Simon's mom, Wrigley and Cheyenne's parents, Curry's mom and countless others for taking these lovely pets into their homes. You are really doing the world a great justice.
