Quote of the Season

‘‘It is ironic that several of these individuals, who so staunchly and proudly touted their religious convictions in public, would time and again lie to cover their tracks and disguise the real purpose behind the ID Policy. . . The students, parents, and teachers of the Dover Area School District deserved better than to be dragged into this legal maelstrom, with its resulting utter waste of monetary and personal resources.’’

- - -U.S. District Judge John E. Jones

Judge Jones cock blocked Dover PA school board's attempts to teach Intelligent Design (ID) in public schools. He ruled that the school board's attempt to insert intelligent design into the science curriculum violated the constitutional separation of church and state. The ruling on this case is critical to the fight against teaching ID in public schools across the country. Judge Jones goes on to say that ID "is a religious view, a mere re-labeling of creationism, and not a scientific theory.’’ There won't be an appeal, the ID proponents were ousted from the school board during the last election.

Yes, Red Basement fans, there is a Santa Claus.

I read the 139 page opinion and it is riddled with quotes such as the one you posted. Judge Jones is my new favorite.

and the judge is a dubba appointee - muah ha ha - coupled with dubba's 'happy holidays' (as opposed to merry xmas) card he sent out this year, perhaps the christian taliban will burn him at the stake for us!
