Greetings. In last week's UN NAMED GOVERNMENT AGENCY ON LINE LEWSLETTER, PIO explained that dogs are not allowed in capitol complex buildings, including the L building. General Services Division contacted me last week and requested that we address this situation, as we had a dog corner a security guard in the M building. I also found out, after talking with the security guard, that this has been an ongoing issue, with more than one incident of aggressive dog behavior in the M building. This message is to reiterate that dogs are not allowed in our building. If you feel that you need your dog for personal security reasons, please contact me so we can discuss this.
If you have seen any of the convicts that they hire as "security" around here, you would not only bring your pitbull to work with you, you would bring your own personal guerilla army. Scary m-fers. Now, I am going to be obliged to bring Killer and Chopper to work with me next time I am here on a weekend, just to piss off Safety Girl.

Just when you think it can't get any worse.
"Greetings.
As many of you know, the emergency lights in that building failed to work when the power went out, making it difficult (at best) to evacuate the building.
I have been working with General Services to determine when the emergency lighting will be in place and working. The contractor has been hired, and the parts have been ordered, but it still may take some time to get them fully functional.
In the interim, the UNNAMED GOVERNMENT AGENCY safety committee has purchased and provided glow sticks for your use in a power outage situation. Please keep in mind that these are a short term fix for a serious issue, and they are in no way the final solution to the problem. General Services has assured me that the emergency lighting issue will be resolved in early January.
As far as location for the glow sticks... There will be one given to each employee. Please keep it somewhere safe, where you will remember its location and is easily accessible. Also, a couple will be placed in each bathroom and each conference room. Please note the location of them in these areas so you will be able to find them if the power goes off.
How do we use them you ask? Easy! When the power goes off, just grab your glow stick by both hands, and bend just until you hear a snap. At that point, shake the stick vigorously and the stick should start to glow. Please remember, the amount of light produced by the glow stick is not going to illuminate a room. It will provide enough light to assist you in navigating to an exit. It will provide barely enough light to see about 3 feet in front of you. If you can, team up with others to combine light. Remember, this is not intended to light up the building, just to help you navigate the halls and the stairs.
Also, remember, these are one time use only. If you activate the glow stick prior to an electrical failure, you will not have one when the time comes. Please do not activate it until the need arises. If there is an electrical failure, and you use your light stick, please throw it away. I will follow up after each power outage incident and determine where replacement light sticks are needed until the permanent lighting is in place. Where more are needed, we will purchase and replace."
Rave anyone?
